James Anthony Miles, age 65, of Raywick, passed away Thursday, October 27, 2011 at his brother's residence in Loretto.
Born June 25, 1946 in South Bend, IN, he was a farmer and former employee of of Barton Brands Distillery in Bardstown. He formerly served in the Army Reserves and was a Catholic by faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Victor and Mary Alma Carrico Miles.
Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Paula Benningfield Miles, daughter, Toni Thomas (David) of Raywick, two sons, Gene Miles (Christy) of Bradfordsville, Paul Miles (Kelly Kieffer) of Louisville, four grandsons, Ben Thomas, Jarred Thomas, Brandon Miles and Matthew Miles, eight sisters, Betty Jean Caldwell, Shirley Knopp (Carol) and Rosie Clan (Edward) all of Lebanon, Mary B. Cissell (James) of Bardstown, Wilma Faulkner (Harold) of Saint Francis, Judy Murphy (J.R.) of Loretto, Vickie Chesser (Bobby) and Lois Dunn all of Springfield, three brothers, R. V. Miles of Loretto, Jody Miles (Mary Jane) of Lebanon and John Denny Miles (Betty) of Bardstown.
Funeral Services are 11 AM Monday, October 31, 2011 at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto, with interment at Our Lady of the Hills Cemetery, Finley. Sister Mary Lois Speaks will officiate.
Visitation is 3-8 PM Sunday, October 30, 2011 at the funeral home with a prayer service at 7 PM Sunday.
