James Gabriel "Gabe" Osborne, 75, of Loretto, passed away Thursday, May 26, 2011 at Jewish Hospital in Louisville.
Born November 30, 1935 in Loretto, Mr. Osborne was a member of Saint Francis of Assisi Church. He retired after 33 years with General Electric Company.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Gabriel and Mary Gladys Hardin Osborne.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Doris Mills Osborne, two sons, Michael Osborne (Judy) of Bardstown and Vincent Osborne (Sabrina Todd) of Columbia, South Carolina, three daughters, Sue Ann Hill (Timmy) of Springfield, Mary Ellen Mattingly (Keith) of Loretto, Jeanie Mattingly (Tommy) of Loretto, nine grandchildren, Brandon Osborne (Lakiyn), Allen Osborne (Stacey), Natasha Hill, Nathan Mattingly, Amber Mattingly, Kinsey Hill, T. J. Osborne, Morgan Mattingly and Shelby Mattingly, a great-grandson, Eli Osborne, his sister, Shirley Moore (David) of New Albany, IN, and several nieces, nephews and inlaws.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 AM Monday, May 30, 2011 at St. Francis of Assisi Church in St. Francis. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Visiting will be 2-8 PM Sunday at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto, KY. A prayer service will be at 5 PM Sunday.
