James Albert "Jimmy" Richerson

James Albert “Jimmy” Richerson, 80, of Lebanon, passed away on Sunday, March 8, 2026. Born on December 2, 1945, in Marion County, he dedicated 26 years of service to Canton Cooperage before retiring. Jimmy worked various other jobs before finding his way to Canton Cooperage which included being a siding contractor.

He found great enjoyment in the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing, gardening, and mowing yards. Some of his greatest pleasures were hunting with his son and grandson, seeing his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and playing with his furry companion, Roxie.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, Albert “Ab” and Ruth Elizabeth Mattingly Richerson and one grandson, Thomas Brandon Abell.

Survivors include his devoted wife of 61 years, Brenda Farmer Richerson; three children, Allen Richerson (Jennifer), Dana Leigh Abell (Eugene), and Cris Lambe (Michael), all of Lebanon; five grandchildren, Jordon Richerson, Sydney Yarbrough, Sarah Childers, Claire Lambe, and Kristian Burkhead; eight great-grandchildren with 2 more on the way; two siblings, Diane Varney and Denny Richerson (Gayle), all of Lebanon.

Funeral Services for James Albert “Jimmy” Richerson will be held at 11 am Friday, March 13, 2026, at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto. Rev. Deacon Joseph R. Dant will officiate. Interment will follow in Old Liberty Cemetery.

The visitation is 4-8 pm Thursday at Mattingly Funeral Home.
