James Maurice "Jimmy" Thomas, Jr., age 69, of Raywick, passed away Sunday, July 8, 2012 at University of Louisville Hospital.
He was born November 13, 1942 in Marion County. He formerly operated Thomas Trucking Company in Louisville, T. J.'s Lounge in Saint Mary's and the Fifth Wheel Lounge in Raywick.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Maurice Thomas, Sr. and Mary Evelyn Allen Thomas, one daughter, Robin Thomas and one infant son, Anthony Thomas.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Theresa Downs Thomas, two sons, Marcy Thomas (Susan Marlow) of Bardstown and Stuart Thomas (Lori) of Cox's Creek, eight grandchildren, Robyn Thomas, Amanda Cox (Daniel), Francy Nally (Derek), Michael Thomas, Thomas Thomas, Katie Thomas, Christopher Thomas, Ashley Auberry, seven great-grandchildren, one brother, David Thomas of Lebanon, two sisters, Phyllis Troutman of Raywick and Mary Kay Bland (Perry) of Lebanon.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 AM Thursday, July 12, 2012 at Saint Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Raywick, followed by interment in the church cemetery. Rev. James W. Graf will be the celebrant.
Visiting 2-9 PM Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto, with prayer services at 7 PM conducted by Rev. Deacon Joseph R. Dant.
Grandchildren and their spouses will serve as pallbearers.
