Jane V. Deacon, age 82 of Burlington, KY, formerly of Lebanon, passed away Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at her son's home in Burlington, KY.

Jane was born March 9, 1935 in Louisville. She was a retired Head Start Teacher, a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the United Presbyterian Church in Lebanon.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Embra Deacon, Jr. (2005); her parents, Vermont Vandyke, Sr. and Jane Minter Herman Varble; her brother, Vermont Vandyke Varble, Jr., her beloved aunt, Carolyn "T" Herman, and one infant granddaughter, Megan Rene Deacon.

Survivors include one daughter, Janie Wilson (Rich) of Blue Springs, Missouri; three sons, Mark Deacon (Suzy) of Burlington, Mike Deacon (Tonyia) of Willisburg and Matt Deacon of Lebanon; 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held at 10 AM Friday, October 20, 2017 at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto. Burial will follow in the Lebanon National Cemetery.

Visitation is 5-9 PM Thursday at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto.
