Jane Karen Blair Kaufman, 79, of Bardstown, passed away Monday, February 2, 2026, at Hosparus Health Inpatient Care Center in Louisville.  She was born September 29, 1946 in Marion County to the late Bernard Joseph "Cookie" and Margaret Mary Blanford Blair.  Jane was a former teacher at Saint Patrick Elementary School in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Stephen C. Kaufman; two siblings, Bruce Blair (Martha) of Bardstown and Janet Blair of Springfield; many nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am Thursday, February 5, 2026, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 59 New Haven Road, Loretto.  Rev. Richard T. Goodin will officiate.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The visitation is 9 am – 11 am Thursday at the church.  Mattingly Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.

Memorials may go to Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in Kanab, Arizona.

Pallbearers are Jimmy Mattingly, Daniel Bishop, Alex Shelton, Conner Mattingly, Jay Blair, Kevin Blair, and Stephen Walker; Honorary Pallbearers are Toby Bishop, Hayden Bishop, Zoe Walker, Maggie Walker, Camden Blair, and Ava Blair.
