Mary Janet Cissell, age 76 of Loretto, passed away Thursday, November 29, 2018 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born September 18, 1942 in Loretto. She was a former headstart bus monitor, a former cook at the old St. Francis Nursing Center and a former child care provider.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Linton and Elizabeth Lillian Newton Mattingly; one sister, Rose Marie Mattingly; two brothers, Francis Gerard "Flood" Mattingly and Anthony Gerard Mattingly; one infant son, James Leo Cissell.

Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Joseph Justin 'Joe' Cissell, Sr.; two daughters, Lori Ann Hill (Bobby Delaney) of Loretto and Pam Ballard (Jim) of Greenbriar; one son, Joey Cissell (Margaret) of Loretto; seven grandchildren, Matthew Hill (Jessica Cammack), Wesley Hill (P.J. Hale), Justin Cissell (Deana Shelton), Derek Cissell (Stephanie), Ashley Cissell, Stephanie Tipton (Charlie) and Kayla Grayson (Kevin); five great-grandchildren; eight sisters, Ann Mattingly of Lebanon, Sarah Hutchins (Howard) of Loretto, Marlene and Patty Mattingly both of New Hope, Norma O'Daniel (Jerry) and Mary Ann Riggs (Jackie) all of Bardstown, Margaret Reece (Mike) of Louisville, Theresa Skaggs of Greenville, eight brothers, Joe Mattingly (Rose), Jude Mattingly, Charlie Mattingly (Sheann) and Bill Mattingly (Sabra) all of Bardstown, Bernie Mattingly (Janie) of Loretto, Larry Mattingly (Doris) of Bloomfield, Steve Mattingly (P.J.) and Arthur Mattingly (Carlene) all of New Hope.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto. Burial will follow in Saint Francis of Assisi Cemetery in Saint Francis. Rev. Deacon Joseph R. Dant will officiate.

Visitation is 3-8 Monday at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto, with a prayer service at 6:30 PM.
