Janice Marie Thompson passed away on Friday, March 6, at the Village of Lebanon. She was born on July 24, 1939, to William Kelly Bradshaw Sr. and Agnes Calista Bradshaw. She was a loving mother, a devoted wife, and a devout Catholic whose faith guided her throughout her life. Janice was known for her quick wit and her love of dancing, and she brought joy and laughter to those around her. She married Joseph Donald Thompson (Donnie) on June 28, 1958, and the two shared 67 years of marriage together.
Janice is survived by her husband, Joseph Donald Thompson (Donnie); her son, Mark Thompson (Amy); her grandchildren, Lindsey Ballard (Brian), Brittany Mudd (Ben), and Justin Thompson; six great-grandchildren; and her sisters, Calista Faye Wilson, Darnell Hardin, Judy Kay Bland, Rosemary Leake, Norita Thompson, and Wanda Culver.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Donna Marie Walls; her mother, Agnes Calista Bradshaw; her father, William Kelly Bradshaw Sr.; her sisters, Verna Mae Caldwell, Phyllis Lykins, and Maxine Nalley; and her brothers, Andrew Bradshaw, Bobbi Jean Bradshaw, Phillip Bradshaw, Kelly Bradshaw Jr., and Clayton Bradshaw.
Pallbearers will be Justin Thompson, Brian Ballard, Ross Wright, Charles Thompson, Pat Bland, and Clifton Wright. Ben Mudd will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
Janice will be deeply missed by her family and all who knew and loved her. Her humor, faith, and love for her family will always be remembered.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am Monday, March 9, 2026, at Saint Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 6785 Highway 52, Loretto. Rev. Terry L. Bradshaw will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The visitation is 8:30 am – 10:30 am Monday at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto.
Memorials may go to the Saint Francis of Assisi Church.
