Burba
May 22, 1941 – February 14, 2022
James Chester "J.C." Burba, Jr., age 80 of New Haven, passed away Monday, February 14, 2022 at Flaget Memorial Hospital in Bardstown. He was born May 22, 1941 in Culvertown. He was a former employee of Bird and Son in Bardstown with 33 ½ years of service. He also worked at Oscar Getz Museum in Bardstown and Saint Catherine School. He was a member of Saint Vincent de Paul Church. He enjoyed rock fishing, turtle hunting and going to the lake with his sons and bringing back good catches. He loved his family dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Chester Burba, Sr. and Mary Alena Donahue Burba; one grandson, Michael Gustin; eight siblings, Lorraine Clark, Walter Burba, Bobby Burba, Leroy Burba, Mary Ann Fowler and infants Doris Jean, Kathleen and Leona Burba.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Kathleen Wheatley Burba; seven children, James Burba (JoAnn) of Macy, IN, Joanie Burba of Bardstown, David Burba (Lorrie) of Upton, Glenn Burba (Kim) of Louisville, Steve Burba (Alex) of Northglenn, CO, Chris Burba and Nathan Burba (Greg D'Adamo) all of Louisville; 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; five siblings, Philip Burba (Marilyn), Ronnie Burba and Agnes Mattingly all of New Haven, Rita Lamkin (Pat) of Elmwood, TN and Louise Gootee of Lexington.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 am Friday, February 18, 2022 at Saint Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 104 Church Street, New Hope. Revs. Ken Fortener and Matthew Hardesty will concelebrate. Burial will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery.
Visitation is 3-8 pm Thursday at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto, with a prayer service at 7 pm by Deacon Dean Giulitto.
The prayer service and funeral mass will be livestreamed onto the Mattingly Funeral Home Facebook page.

Pallbearers are his sons, his son-in-law and his grandchildren.
