James Talbert "Jim" Riggs, III, age 66 of Louisville, passed away Thursday, June 22, 2017 at his residence.
He was born November 2, 1950 in New Hope. He was a former employee of Zeon Chemical Company in Louisville and a member of the Catholic faith.
He was preceded in death by his son, Chad Riggs; parents, Jimmy T. and Louise Cecil Riggs; three sisters, Connie Cissell, Betty Lou Masterson and Sister Margaret Riggs, SCN.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Edith Bartley Riggs; two sons, Greg Riggs (Jennifer) of Lebanon Junction and Troy Riggs of Louisville; three grandchildren, Taylor (Ethan), Chad and Annie and two great-grandsons, Miller Jack and Levi; six sisters, Shirley Hutchins, Pat Bartley (Doc), Ginger Ayers (Don) and Sara Riggs, all of New Hope, Lois O'Bryan (Jerry) of New Haven and Marinel Clark (Junie) of Cox's Creek; two brothers, Jackie Riggs (Mary Ann) of Bardstown and Dickie Riggs of Cox's Creek.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM Monday, June 26, 2017 at Saint Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 104 Church Street, New Hope. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The Rev. Ken Fortener will preside.
Visitation is 2-7 PM Sunday at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto with a prayer service at 6 PM by Deacon Jim Cecil.
Pallbearers are Jackie Riggs, Dickie Riggs, Brandi Ayers, Brooke O'Bryan, Travis Cissell and Brian Bartley.
