Joann Nalley Malone passed away on Nov. 29, 2016, in Louisville, Ky. She was 85 years old.

Born in Loretto, Ky., on March 4, 1931, Joann was the daughter of Lesley and Leona Nalley. She grew up in Loretto with her three sisters, Imelda, Eleanor and Bobbie, and a brother, Sam, who all preceded her in death.

She married Joseph Harold Malone on May 14, 1945. They raised five children, Theresa Malone (Steve Hinnefeld), Joni Malone Sholtes, Jude (Teresa) Malone, Michael Malone and Joe Malone, who survive. Joann and Harold were married for 50 years at the time of his death in February, 2005.

Joann is also survived by her sister in-law Ruthie Malone Browning, brother in-law Bobby Buckman, ten grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 1, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Raywick, Ky. Burial will follow in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 30, at Ratterman and Sons Funeral Home , 3800 Bardstown Rd., Louisville, Ky. Arrangements Mattingly Funeral Home, Loretto, KY.
