Joseph Francis "Joe" Ballard, age 77 of Loretto, passed away November 4, 2017 at Cedars of Lebanon Nursing Home.

Joe was born January 7, 1940 in Louisville. He was a former employee of Buzick Construction and a Catholic by faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Thomas and Mary Lynn Clan Ballard; one brother, James Everett Ballard.

Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Mary Brady Ballard; one daughter, Ann Calhoun (David) of Shepherdsville; three sons, Wayne, Ray and Tony Ballard, all of Loretto; two grandchildren, Tiffany Calhoun of Mount Washington and Josh Calhoun of Shepherdsville; one great-grandson, Nathan Taylor; one sister, Mary Jeanette "Sissy" Davis of Louisville; one brother, William Henry Ballard of Bardstown.

Funeral Services will be held at 10 AM Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto; Rev. Deacon Joseph R. Dant will preside. Burial will follow in Saint Francis of Assisi Cemetery.

Visitation is 3-8 PM Tuesday at Mattingly Funeral Home.

Pallbearers are Donnie Miles, Josh Calhoun, Donnie Nalley, David Calhoun, Justine Taylor and Troy Mattingly.
