Joseph Marvin Hutchins, 79, of Loretto, passed away Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at Spring View Hospital, Lebanon.
Born November 24, 1932 at Manton, he was a retired employee of G.E. Appliance Park in Louisville, a Veteran of the U.S. Army and member of Saint Francis of Assisi Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ethel "Teenie" Hutchins, his parents, Thomas Russell and Mary Liguori Sims Hutchins, infant son, Thomas Jude Hutchins, four brothers, Joseph Leon, Joseph Gerald, Joseph Valerian and Thomas Harold Hutchins, three sisters, Mauritia Ballard, Mary Grace Mattingly and Mary Ann Gardner.
Survivors include five sons, David Hutchins (Cathy) and Frankie Hutchins (Donna), all of Lebanon, Bill Hutchins (Agnes) of Springfield, Mark Hutchins (Kim) of Bardstown, Steven Hutchins (Barbara) of Loretto, 12 Grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, two brothers, Howard Hutchins (Sarah) of Loretto, Herbert Hutchins (Sarah) of Louisville, six sisters, Mary Catherine Willett (Sam), Christine Lanham (Robert)and Barbara Southerland all of Loretto, Sybil Blair (Marion) of Lebanon, Linda Mills (J.W.) of Mount Washington and Lorene Miles (Louie) of Louisville.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 AM Friday, March 16, 2012 at Saint Francis of Assisi Church, Saint Francis, with interment to follow in the church cemetery where military rites will be conducted by the Marion County Veterans Honor Guard. Rev. R. Joseph Hemmerle will be the celebrant.
Visiting 3-8 PM Thursday at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto, with prayers at 5 PM.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Jason, Eric, Chad, Adam, Matthew and Noah Hutchins.
Honorary Pallbearers will be granddaughters, Emily, Olivia, Alex, Holly and Kelly Hutchins and Cassie Downs.
