Obituary

Josephine Cambron Gootee, age 88 of Loretto, passed away Friday, September 9, 2016 at the Loretto Motherhouse Infirmary.

She was born February 7, 1928 in Manton to the late Clem Basil Cambron Sr. and Florida Cambron. She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis Arthur Gootee; three sisters, Roberta Durbin, Mahala Newton and Louise Wathen; seven brothers, infant Charles, Charles "Sonny", John William "Jack", Raymond A. "Bert", Robert I. "Judge", Ben and C.B. Cambron Jr.

Survivors include three daughters, Betty Green (Gerald) of Loretto, Darlene Reid (Helman) of Holy Cross and Mary Gootee of Shelbyville; three sons, James Gootee (Terry) of Simpsonville, David Gootee of Raywick and Mike Gootee (Janet) of Lebanon; 13 grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; one sister, Imogene Kelly of Lebanon.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM Tuesday at Saint Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 6785 Highway 52, Saint Francis. Interment will follow in the Holy Rosary of Manton cemetery. The Rev. Bryan T. Lamberson will officiate.

Visitation is 3-8 PM Monday at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto with a prayer service at 7 PM by The Rev. Joseph R. Dant.

Memorials may go to the Sisters of Loretto, 515 Nerinx Road, Nerinx, KY 40049.

Pallbearers are her sons and Adam Gootee, Scott Gootee and Joe Dave Gootee.
