Mary Joyce "Joy" Medley, 81, of Loretto, passed away Sunday, September 28, 2025, with her family by her side.  She was born September 23, 1944, in Marion County.  She owned and operated "Joy's Primp Shop" in Loretto for 50 years.  She was a member of Saint Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Donald "Donnie" Medley, who died September 7, 2015; her parents, Leroy and Hazel Hill Thompson; one sister, Judy Carrico; one sister-in-law, Thelma Thompson.

Survivors include one daughter, Rhonda Livers (Bernie) of Nashville, TN; one son, Brian Keith Medley (Regina) of Raywick; five grandchildren, Dillon Livers (Kristen), Sam Livers (Anna), Emma Trent (Teagon), Eli Medley, and Jake Medley; two great grandchildren, Henry Livers and Palmer Trent; three brothers, Donnie Thompson (Janice) of Loretto, David Thompson (Donna) of Bardstown, and Charles Thompson of Holy Cross; three sisters, Jean Hornback (Fred) of Hodgenville; Cathy Taylor (Roy) of Louisville, and Debbie Wright (Clifton) of Loretto; one brother-in-law, Pat Carrico of Louisville.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am Thursday, October 2, 2025, at Saint Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 6785 Highway 52, Loretto.  Rev. Richard T. Goodin will officiate.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The visitation is 3-8 pm Wednesday at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto, with a prayer service at 7 pm by Deacon Donald Coulter.
