Joyce Carol Spalding, age 76 of Raywick, passed away Tuesday, January 23, 2024, at her home.  She was born August 6, 1947, in Marion County.  She was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother.  She was a homemaker, avid green thumb, and exceptional quilter.  Born and raised Catholic, Joyce was a long-standing parishioner at Saint Francis Xavier Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie Robert and Margaret Horton Livers; one brother, Jerry Livers.

Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Samuel K. Spalding; two children, Samantha J. Sexton (Damon) of Lexington and Sam Spalding (Wendy) of Hilo, Hawaii; six grandchildren, Landon, Andrew, Leyton, Allyson, Kingsley, and Orion; one sister, Retha Nibert (Howie) of Lake City, Florida.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am Saturday, January 27, 2024, at Saint Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 108 Main Street, Raywick.  Rev. Scott Wimsett will officiate.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The visitation is 3-8 Friday at Mattingly Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7 pm.
