Katherine Pauline Mattingly, age 92 of Loretto, passed away Monday, September 5, 2016 at Spring View Hospital in Lebanon.
She was born September 10, 1923 in Raywick. She was a former employee of Star Hill Distillery and was a member of Saint Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Marty Mattingly; one son, Charles Richard "Ricky" Mattingly; her parents, John Lambert and Melvina Galloway McCauley; four sisters, Judy Favreau, Rita Mattingly, Margaret Galloway and Glora Mae McCauley; eight brothers, Howard, Bernard, R.E., Ronnie, Harold, Joe Ben, John L. Jr. and Lee McCauley.
Survivors include four daughters, Julia Downs of Bardstown, Gwen Humphrey (David) and Joyce Hite (Charles) all of Lebanon Junction and Charlotte Mattingly of Loretto; two sons, Bill and Larry Mattingly both of Loretto; 12 grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; one sister, Marceline Nickum of Illinois; one brother, Tom McCauley of Louisville.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM Friday at Saint Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 6785 Highway 52, Saint Francis. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The Rev. Bryan T. Lamberson will preside.
Visitation is 3-8 PM Thursday at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto, with a prayer service at 7 PM by The Rev. Deacon Joseph R. Dant.
