Kathleen Bickett Cecil, age 74 of Raywick, passed away Saturday, July 15, 2023, at Norton Brownsboro Hospital. She was born May 18, 1949, in Marion County. She was a homemaker and member of Saint Francis Xavier Catholic Church. Caring and giving until the end, she had chosen to give "The Gift of Life" and became an organ donor.
She was preceded in death by her parents, J.E. "Squire" and Mary Coletta Kirkpatrick Bickett; two siblings, Patricia Gaddie and Louis Earl Bickett; three brothers-in-law, Robert Carl Cecil, John Steinemann and Ronnie Matlock.
Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Daniel Oldron "Danny" Cecil; two children, Dan Cecil, Jr. of Louisville and Kristin Cecil Wethington (Steve) of Raywick; six grandchildren, Josh Cecil, Kaitlin Lee, Chris Wethington, Tyler Wethington, Blake Wethington and Carlee Wethington; six siblings, Joe Keith Bickett of Raywick, Marceline Cecil (Joe Eddie) of Saint Francis, Beverly Fields (Ricky), Charlie Bickett, Jimmy Bickett and Robbie Bickett (Melissa) all of Raywick; a number of brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; Barbara Whitaker (Ronnie), Phyllis Steinemann, and Lou Ann DuVall (Phil) all of Louisville, Martha Hellman (David) of LaGrange, Patsy Cecil of Canyon Lake, Texas, Debbie Hewitt (Curtis) of Prospect and Bobby Cecil (Laura) of Mount Eden.
The funeral mass for Kathleen Bickett Cecil will be celebrated at 11 am Friday, July 21, 2023, at Saint Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 108 Main Street, Raywick. Rev. James W. Graf will officiate. Inurnment will follow in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 3-8 pm Thursday at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto, with a prayer service at 7 pm by Rev. Deacon Joseph R. Dant. The prayer service and funeral mass will be livestreamed onto the Mattingly Funeral Home Facebook page.
