Obituary

John Kenneth "Kenny" Corbett, age 78 of Springfield, passed away Thursday, February 19, 2015 at Norton Brownsboro Hospital in Louisville.

He was born January 5, 1937 in Manton to the late Jack and Ruth Smith Corbett. He retired after 37 ½ years of service at General Electric in Louisville. He held a Kentucky Auctioneers and Real Estate License; was a Kentucky Colonel; a member of Local 761 International Electric and Machine Union; a member of Springfield Lions Club having received numerous awards including the "Melvin Jones Fellowship" for dedicated humanitarian services; a member of Saint Dominic Catholic Church.

He was a great horse lover, having received his first horse from his grandpa Smith at the age of eight years old.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Barbara Ann Wheatley Corbett; two sisters, Dorothy Mae Mudd and Bernadine Hagan.

Survivors include his wife, Anna Jane Graves Smith Corbett; two daughters, Terry Mullins (Bill) of Mount Washington and Lori Ann Peavy (Tim) of Lebanon; two sons, Tony Corbett of Lebanon and Alan Corbett (Angela) of New Haven; two step-daughters, Debbie Lanham (Brad) and Angela Courtwright all of Lebanon; one step-son, Randy Smith (Lisa) of Springfield; three sisters, Lois Gill (Bill)of Pee Wee Valley, Nannie Rose Hill (Jessie Lee) of Loretto and Jeannine Warren (John) of Springfield; two brothers-in-law, Tom Mudd of Springfield and Carl Hagan of Louisville; 13 grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 6964 Cissellville Road, Manton, with burial to follow in Saint Dominic Cemetery in Springfield. The Revs. Trumie C. Elliot and Matthew Hardesty will con-celebrate. A Bereavement Luncheon will follow at St. Dominic Church.

Visitation is 3-8 PM Monday at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto with a prayer service at 7 PM by The Rev. Deacon Joseph R. Dant.

Memorial Donations may go to Saint Dominic-Holy Rosary Cemetery c/o of St. Dominic Church, 303 West Main Street, Springfield, KY 40069.

Pallbearers are Grandsons, Jamie Corbett, Derek Peavy, Peyton Peavy, Joey Keeling, Jonathan Courtwright and Randall Smith.

Honorary Pallbearers are grandchildren, Nickie Sidebottom, Annie Spohr, Rob Keeling, Jesse Smith, Levi Smith, Aaron Love and Wyatt Love and friends, Chuck Polin, John Newton, Jim Powell, Jimmy Medley, Don Smith, Albert Wimsett, Leroy Hagan and Donnie Carrico.
