Obituary

Lambert Ivo Hughes, age 93 of Lebanon, passed away Sunday, March 10, 2024, at Radcliff Veterans Center.  He was born October 9, 1930, in Marion County.  He formerly worked as a Propane Service and Deliveryman with Ferrell Gas in Lebanon.  He served honorably in the United States Navy.  He served in China, Korea, Japan and the Philippines during the Korean Conflict.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita Wheeler Hughes; his parents, Joseph Elmer and Imelda Elizabeth Brady Hughes; three sisters, Nora Hardinger, Gertrude O'Bryan, and Mary Catherine Childers; six brothers, Viella, Patrick, Robert, Joseph, Gregory, and Thomas Hughes; a special friend, Betty Parker.

Survivors include one sister, Mary Delano Cocanougher of Perryville; his nephew, Steven Hughes (Charlotte) of Raywick and many other nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 am Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at Saint Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 108 Main Street, Raywick.  Rev. Scott J. Wimsett.  Interment will follow in Lebanon National Cemetery where military honors will be conducted by the Marion County Veterans Honor Guard.

The visitation is 4-7 pm Tuesday at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto, with a prayer service at 7 pm by Rev. Deacon Joseph R. Dant.
