Lavenia Mae (Cheatham) Mattingly, age 80, went home with the Lord on July 24, 2023, in the company of her family and friends and in the comfort of her home at the Loretto Living Center. Lavenia was born on July 4,1943, to Grundy and Anna Mae Cheatham in Willisburg, Kentucky, where she was a member of the First Christian Church.

In Heaven above, she joins her husband, Cleveland Mattingly, her parents, and her sister, Corine Votaw.

She is survived by her brother, George Cheatham of Gravel Switch; her seven children, Donna Mattingly SL of Nerinx; Linda (Tim) Drury, Dennis Mattingly, and Darrell Mattingly all of Loretto; Susan (Joey) Stumph of Thompsonville; Lisa (Robbie) Alford of Calvary; and Julita (Jerry) Kuchar of Lebanon; seven grandchildren, Sabrina Devine, Jessica Riley, Sarah Kuchar, Robbie Drury, Joshua Alford, Erica Wallingford, and Brittany Spaulding; three nieces, and an endless number of friends and extended family.

Funeral services for Lavenia Mattingly will be held 11 am Saturday, July 29, 2023, at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto. Rev. Deacon Joseph R. Dant will officiate. Interment will follow in St. Francis of Assisi cemetery.

Visitation is 4 – 8 pm Friday at Mattingly Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7 pm.

Pallbearers for Lavenia's services are Robbie Alford, Tim Drury, Jerry Kuchar Jr, Craig Metcalf, Sam Riley, and Jamie Wallingford. Joshua Alford, Robbie Drury, and Joey Stumph will serve as honorary pallbearers.
