Lawrence Mattingly, age 76 of Loretto, passed away Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born October 26, 1944 in Loretto. He was a retired employee of General Electric.

Lawrence was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Lou Young Mattingly; his parents, James Melvin and Mary Theresa McIntyre Mattingly; three brothers, James Carl "Chicken", Earnest and Joseph Louis Mattingly.

Survivors include his wife, Cathy Brady Mattingly; one daughter, Norma Cissell of Louisville; two sons, Austin Mattingly (Debbie) of Bardstown and Curtis Mattingly (Kathy Harris) of Lebanon; five sisters, Shirley Norris of Waddy, Martha Terry of Bedford, Lavada Curtsinger of Louisville, Linda Stallings of Saint Francis and Melvina Mattingly of Loretto; one brother, David Mattingly (Maxine) of Frankfort; six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 10 AM Saturday, February 6, 2021 at Saint Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 6785 Highway 52, Loretto. Rev. Deacon Joseph R. Dant will officiate. Burial will follow in Holy Rosary Cemetery in Manton.

Visitation is 3-8 PM Friday at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto, with a prayer service at 7 PM.

Pallbearers are Gerald Cissell, Donnie Nalley, Robert Ballard, Jacob Wheatley, Roger Miles, Stephen Miles and David Mattingly.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the funeral home is limited to 50% occupancy. Face coverings are required, and food and drink are prohibited. The services will be livestreamed onto the Mattingly Funeral Home facebook page.
