Obituary
Lester Ray Dant, age 82, of Lebanon, passed away Friday, May 11, 2012 at Spring View Hospital.
He was born August 5, 1929 in Marion County. He formerly worked as a Heavy Equipment Operator and as Manager of the old Ready-Mix Concrete Company in Lebanon. He was a member of Saint Augustine Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Simeon and Mary Evelyn Mattingly Dant, one sister, Patsy Miller and one brother, Lyle Dant.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Martha Nell Miles Dant, two sons, Joe Ray Dant (Linda) of Lebanon and Terry Dant of Louisville, four daughters, Debbie Dant of Lebanon, Cindy Gulley (Jimmy) of Calvary, Lesley Lee (Dan) and Sarah Fister (Ken) all of Lexington, 12 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and one sister, Irma Thomas of Loretto.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 AM Monday, May 14, 2012, at Saint Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Saint Francis, with interment to follow in the church cemetery. Revs. Gerald L. Bell, William M. Bowling, James W. Graf, and R. Joseph Hemmerle will concelebrate and Rev. Deacon Pat Wright will assist.
Visiting 2-9 PM Sunday at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto with prayer services at 7 PM conducted by his son, Rev. Deacon Joseph R. Dant
Memorial Donations may go to St. Augustine School Scholarship Fund
Pallbearers are Jimmy Gulley, Daniel Lee, Tyler Lee, Ian Lee, Brandon Fister, Adrian Bard and Alex Bard.
