Anna Louise Medley, age 89 of Springfield, passed away Thursday, December 18, 2014 at Loretto Motherhouse Infirmary in Nerinx.
She was born July 3, 1925 in Washington County. She was a Farmer's wife and member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church of Manton.
She was preceded in death by her father, Edgar Edelen; her mother, Lucille Montgomery Edelen Osborne; her step-father, Frank Osborne; a grandson, Michael Hamilton.
Survivors include her husband of 69 years, John S. Medley; three daughters, Charlotte Mudd (Paul) of Louisville, Ruth Hamilton (Fred) of Bardstown and Mary Mattingly (Steve) of Loretto; one son, Johnny Medley (Marian) of Springfield; eleven grandchildren, Bob Mudd, Bradley Hamilton, Chris Mudd, Beth Coats, Sonya Ash, Amanda Mattingly, Stephanie Johnson, Allyson Hamilton-McIntire, Brittany Alvey, Matthew Medley, Candice Mattingly; 17 great-grandchildren; three brothers, T. F. Edelen of Louisville, George Edelen (Anna Louise) and Paul "Dutch" Edelen all of Loretto.
Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM Monday, December 22, 2014 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church of Manton, 6964 Cissellville Road, Manton, with burial in Saint Rose Cemetery in Springfield. Rev. Matt Hardesty will officiate.
Visitation is 3-8 PM Sunday at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto, with a prayer service at 7 PM.
Pallbearers are Fred Hamilton, Paul Mudd, Steve Mattingly, Brad Hamilton, Bob Mudd, Matt Medley and Chris Mudd. Honorary Pallbearers are the granddaughters.
