Obituary

Lynn Edward Farmer, age 75 of Versailles, formerly of Lebanon, passed away Saturday, October 28, 2023, at his home, with his family by his side.  He was born November 12, 1947, in Marion County.  He formerly worked as a System Programmer with IBM in Lexington.  He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in Vietnam.  He was a member of the Marion County Veterans Honor Guard where he had served as Treasurer for 11 years.  He loved to fish.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John Wesley and Edna Bernice Jarboe Farmer; one brother-in-law, Larry Thomas "Tom" Marshall.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Nancy Arnold Farmer; three children, Wesley Farmer (Aletia) of Versailles, Amy Chandler and Seth Farmer (Donna) all of Lexington; four grandchildren, Riley, Avery, Jakob, and Addie; one sister, Karen Marshall of Lexington.

Funeral Services will be held at 1 pm Tuesday, October 31, 2023, at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto.  Rev. Rodney Booe will officiate.  Interment will follow in Peter Cemetery in Mackville where military rites will be conducted by the Marion County Veterans Honor Guard.

The visitation is 10 am – 1 pm Tuesday at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto.

His comrades with the Marion County Veterans Honor Guard will serve as pallbearers.
