Madeline Katherine Farmer, 79, of Raywick, passed away Thursday, June 18, 2026, at Baptist Health Louisville. Born November 13, 1947, in Binghamton, New York, she was a dedicated employee of the Marion County School System, where she served for many years as secretary at Lebanon Middle School. Madeline found great joy in her work and took pride in supporting both staff and students, forming meaningful connections with the children she encountered each day.
She enjoyed music, shopping, and traveling, and had a special love for the Christmas season. In keeping with her generous spirit, she became a donor for the Network of Hope.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Missy Spalding; her parents, Roy D. Miller and Betty Wolny Truex; her stepfather, Claire Truex.
Survivors include her husband, Pete Farmer; three children, Jenny Williams (Billy Humes), Crissy Farmer, and Charles Farmer, all of Raywick; four grandchildren, Candice Williams, Connor Spalding, Parker Williams, and Simone Clayborne; one great grandson, Eli Durham; three siblings, Fred Miller (Johanna) of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, Ed Miller (Sharon) of Saint Mary’s, Pennsylvania, and Jean Mott of Fort Myers, Florida; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services for Madeline Katherine Farmer will be held at 1 pm Thursday, June 25, 2026, at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto. Rev. Deacon Joseph R. Dant will officiate. Cremation will follow the service.
The visitation is 9 am – 1 pm Thursday at Mattingly Funeral Home.
Memorials may go to Hosparus Health Green River.
Honorary Pallbearers are Connor Spalding, Brian Miller, William Dougherty, Billy Dougherty, Will Dougherty, and Lane Dougherty.
