Mark Anthony Smothers, age 60 of Lebanon, passed away Sunday, June 5, 2022, peacefully at his home.  He was born November 10, 1961 in Bradfordsville.  He formerly worked as a logger and construction worker.  He enjoyed planting flowers and gardening.

He was preceded in death by his son, Garland Dale Smothers (June 11, 2020); his infant great granddaughter, Ava Rose Whitehouse (April 6, 2022); his parents, Jacob "Jake" and Lettie Bell Gribbins Smothers; two sisters, Betty Ann Rakes and Mary Frances Garrett; one brother, Jerry Smothers.

Survivors include one son, Chris Smothers (Dana Clarkson) of Bradfordsville; two grandchildren, Jack and Darian Smothers, both of Lebanon; four sisters, Linda Haydon of Bowling Green, Peggy Gordon (Darrell) of Bradfordsville, Margaret Smothers of Lebanon and Kathy Gordon (Mitchell) of Mt. Sherman; seven brothers, George Smothers (Bonnie), Sam Smothers (Donna), Carl Smothers (Tammy) and Paul Smothers (Bonnie) all of Lebanon, Harold Smothers (Gail) of Loretto, Johnny Smothers (Jan) of Illinois and David Smothers of Bradfordsville; a special friend, Joanna Donahue of Lebanon.

Funeral Services will be held at 1 pm Wednesday, June 8, 2022 at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto.  Deacon Dennis May will officiate.  Cremation will follow the service.

Visitation is 10 am until time of service on Wednesday.
