Martha Helena Spalding Brinley, age 84 of Lebanon, passed away Thursday, September 5, 2024 at University of Kentucky Hospital.  She was born April 4, 1940 in Washington County.  She was a retired employee of General Electric.  She is preceded in death by her husband of 24 years, Junior Brinley; her son, Steve Miles; her parents, Pete and Alice Spalding; two sisters, Eleanor Spalding and Sister Rosanne Spalding.

Martha loved to travel and was blessed to travel the world with Junior, the love of her life, before he passed.  She also loved dancing and did so until she was no longer physically able.  Martha loved her family with all her heart.  This included her five children as well as her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandson.  She also loved her siblings and enjoyed their monthly family dinner.

Martha is survived by her children, Billy (Mary Jane) Miles of Lebanon, Brenda (Mitchell) Wheatley of Lebanon, Doug Miles of Bloomfield, and Jan (Wally) Brady of Lebanon; her grandchildren, David (Nicole) Wheatley of Bardstown, Rosalyn Mattingly of Ohio, Adrienne (Casey) Hague of Bradfordsville, Emily Wheatley of Lebanon, Kristin (Jordan) Spalding of Lebanon, Casey Jo Wheatley of Lebanon, Carrie Anne (Zack) Baumgardner of Bradfordsville, Timothy Leigh of Lebanon, Jeremy Miles of Lebanon, and Josh Miles of Lebanon; her great grandchildren, Sydney Mattingly, Ethan Wheatley, Kylie Summers, Chloe Leigh, Laney Summers, Carson Wheatley, Railee Gordon, Carter Spalding, Miles Osborne, Kayden Hunt and Jackson Spalding; her great-great grandson, Layton Summers; six siblings, Lawrence Spalding, Sister Laurita Spalding, Marlin Spalding, Sara Riedel, Alice Miller and Eddie Spalding (Phyllis).

Funeral Services for Martha Helena Spalding Brinley will be held at 11 am Wednesday, September 11, 2024 at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto.  Rev. Deacon Joseph R. Dant and Rev. Neal A. Gordon will officiate.  Interment will follow in Saint Michael Cemetery in Fairfield.

The visitation is 4-8 pm Tuesday at Mattingly Funeral Home.

Pallbearers are David Wheatley, Ethan Wheatley, Jordan Spalding, Carter Spalding, Jeremy Miles and Josh Hatfield.
