Martha Nell Dant, age 83 of Lebanon, passed away Monday, August 10, 2015 at Spring View Hospital.
She was born May 15, 1932 in Saint Francis. She formerly worked for the Marion County School District as teacher's aide and as drivers assistant on the special needs bus. She was a member of Saint Augustine Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester Ray Dant; parents, William Earl and Mary Mabel "Mae" Mattingly Miles; six brothers, James Woodrow, William Eric, Charles Timothy, Thomas B., J.E. and Stanley Miles.
Survivors include four daughters, Debbie Dant of Lebanon, Cindy Gulley (Jimmy) of Calvary, Lesley Lee (Dan) and Sarah Fister (Ken) all of Lexington; two sons, Deacon Joe Dant (Linda) of Lebanon and Terry Dant of Louisville; 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; one sister, Doris Ann Phenis of South Dakota; four brothers, Alo Miles of Lebanon, Ardine Miles of Mount Washington, Joe and Ronnie Miles both of Saint Francis.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM Friday, August 14, 2015 at Saint Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 6785 Highway 52, Loretto, KY 40037. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. celebrants of the Mass are The Most Rev. Charles C. Thompson, Bishop of Evansville, The Revs. Bill Bowling, George S. Illikkal, James W. Graf, Emil Kander and Edmund Ani. The Rev. Deacon Pat Wright will assist.
Visitation will be 3-8 PM Thursday at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto, with a prayer service at 7 PM by her son.
Pallbearers are grandsons and great-grandsons, Jimmy Gulley, Jr., Daniel Lee, Tyler Lee, Ian Lee, Brandon Fister, Adrian Bard and Alex Bard. Honorary Pallbearers are grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Janice Dant, Alicia Hoeck, Suzanne Mays, Brandi Humphrey, Chloe Lee, Claire Lee, Rachel Fister, Joelle Hoeck, Miles Hoeck, Silas Lee and Bobby Mays, Jr.
