She was born April 24, 1944 in Marion County. She was a retired Social Worker for Jefferson County Public Schools and a graduate of Nazareth College in Bardstown and University of Louisville.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Mayola Buckler Graves and one sister, Frances (Fannie) O'Nan.
Survivors include four sisters, Louise Couch (Ken), Sue Hickey (Joe) all of Lexington, Elaine Murphy (Clarence) of Lebanon and Patricia Reed (John) of Springfield, one brother, Louis B. Graves, Jr. of Lexington, her dear friend of 45 years, Anna Casey of Loretto and 14 nieces and nephews and one brother-in-law, Ames O'Nan of Springfield.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at Saint Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 6785 Highway 52, Saint Francis, with burial to follow in Saint Rose Cemetery, Springfield. Rev. R. Joseph Hemmerle will be the celebrant.
Visitation is 4-8 PM Monday at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto with a prayer service at 5 PM.
Memorials may go to the charity of donor's choice.
Pallbearers are her nephews, C. W. Murphy, Jr., Chad Murphy, Joe Hickey Jr., Robert Hickey, Louis B. Graves, III, Matthew Reed, Luke Reed, Morrison O'Nan and Louis O'Nan.
Honorary Pallbearers are her nieces.
