Mary Diane Koob, age 70 of Balltown, passed away Monday, July 15, 2024, at her home in the care of Hospice.  Born April 12, 1954, Diane was a wife of 35 years, mom, grandmother and great grandmother.  She loved her flowers.  She especially loved her grandkids and great grandkids.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Earl Blanford and Mary Catherine Lyvers Blanford; one sister, Beverly Burton; three brothers, Francis "Frankie" Blanford, Joseph "Barry" Blanford and Joseph "Gary" Blanford; several nieces and nephews.

Survivors include her husband of 35 years, Mark Koob; her children, Brian Mattingly (Sheila) of Springfield, Kerri Pierce (Robert) of Wellston, Oklahoma, and Cori Platt (Chanda) of Midwest City, Oklahoma; six grandchildren and six great grandchildren; five brothers, Mickey Blanford (Linda) of Springfield, David Blanford of Holy Cross, Neil Blanford (Dale) of Cox's Creek, Jimmy Blanford (Nancy) of Saint Francis, and Ricky Blanford (Mary Ann) of Holy Cross; three sisters, Mary Pat Moore (Tom), Jeanette Benjamin (Stephen), and Kathy Brady, all of Bardstown; three sisters-in-law, LaVern, Paulette and Sandra Blanford; several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am Friday, July 19, 2024, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 59 New Haven Road, Loretto.  Rev. Richard Goodin will officiate.  Cremation will follow.

The visitation is 4-8 pm Thursday and 9-9:30 am Friday at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto, with a prayer service at 7 pm Thursday by Rev. Deacon Joseph R. Dant.
