Mary Rudell Culver Downs, 86, of Holy Cross, passed peacefully at home Thursday, November 13, 2025 surrounded by family.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, James Paschal Downs in 2021, her parents, John Robert Culver and Frances Evelyn Faulkner Culver, a son, Robbie Downs, a daughter, Debbie Clark, a daughter-in-law, Dawn Kidd and a great grandson, Draven Greenwell.

She is survived by three daughters, Mary Donna Downs, Lisa (Ronnie) Powell, Jill (Neale) Bartley; four sons, David (Pam) Downs, Paul (Rhonda) Downs, Mark Downs, and Jimmy (Ann) Downs; a son-in-law, Eddie Clark; three sisters, Margaret (Tommy) Smith, Emma (Charles Ore) Spalding, and Nancy Wimsatt; two brothers, Leo Culver and Harold (Sherry) Culver; 18 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am Saturday, November 15, 2025 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 59 New Haven Road, Loretto.  Rev. Richard T. Goodin will officiate.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The visitation is 4-8 pm Friday at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto, with a prayer service at 7 pm by Rev. Deacon Joseph R. Dant.

Pallbearers are grandsons, Ray Downs, Brent Downs, Robert Clark, Blake Clark, Cory Downs, Daniel Quinn; Her 12 granddaughters will be Honorary Pallbearers.
