Mary Alice "Sissy" Mattingly Winfield, age 79 of Loretto, passed away peacefully, Thursday, May 15, 2025 at her home, with her family by her side.  She was born August 18, 1945 in Loretto.  She formerly worked as a dietary aide at the Loretto Motherhouse.  She was a Catholic.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Edward "Lightning" Winfield who died November 17, 2015; her son, Charlie Winfield who died December 7, 2019; her parents, Frencis Henry and Effie Lee Mattingly; two brothers, Herbert Lee and Charles Francis Mattingly.

Survivors include her daughter who lived with her, Cathy Winfield; her sister, Charlotte Bickett (Mike) of Loretto; several nieces, nephews, and cousins and special caregivers, Connie Mattingly and Amanda Mattingly Beard.

Funeral Services for Mary Alice "Sissy" Mattingly Winfield, will be held at 1 pm Saturday, May 17, 2025 at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto. Rev. Stacy Wilson will officiate.  Interment will follow in Saint Francis of Assisi Cemetery.

The visitation is 10:30 am – 1 pm Saturday at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto.
