Mary Catherine Willett, age 85 of Loretto, passed away Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at her residence.

She was born April 22, 1931 in Manton. She was a former employee of the Loretto Motherhouse and member of Saint Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Sam Willett; her parents, Russell and Liquori Sims Hutchins; four sisters, Mauritia Ballard, Mary Grace Mattingly, Mary Ann Gardner and Sybil Blair; five brothers, Leon, Gerald, Teenie, Harold and Marvin Hutchins.

Survivors include one daughter, Lonna Willett Hardin (Roy Duke) of Loretto; one son, Sammy J. Willett of Louisville; three grandchildren, Billy Hardin, Troy Hardin (Melissa) and Chad Hardin all of Loretto and six great-grandchildren; four sisters, Christine Lanham (Robert) and Barbara Southerland all of Loretto, Linda Mills (J.W.) of Mount Washington and Lorene Miles (Louie) of Louisville; two brothers, Howard Hutchins (Sarah) of Loretto and Herbert Hutchins (Sarah) of Louisville.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM Monday, July 25, 2016 at Saint Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 6785 Highway 52, Saint Francis. The Rev. Bryan Lamberson will officiate. Interment will follow in the Lebanon National Cemetery.

Visitation is 3-8 PM Sunday at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto with a prayer service at 7 PM.
