Mavis Marie Roution Sprowles, age 83 of Louisville, passed away Wednesday, November 11 ^th after a brief illness.  She was born July 5, 1937 in Marion County to the late Marion and Mallie Glover Roution.

Mavis is survived by her daughter, Suzann Sprowles and a brother, Marion "Junior" Roution Jr (Barbara) and many nieces, nephews, their children and grandchildren, and loving sisters in law.   She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Rex Sprowles, her siblings; Margaret (Roution) White, William (Bill) Roution, Wilkie Roution, and James (Jimmy) Roution.

Mavis had a smile that would light up a room and a laugh that was infectious.  She loved spending time on her front porch with her very spoiled chihuahua.  She was a passionate fan of the Cincinnati Reds and a lifelong Kentucky basketball fan.  She loved music and would dance whenever she had the chance.  She passed on to her daughter a passion for travel and the ability to strike up conversations with just about anyone.  She will be missed by all of the friends and family she touched throughout her life.

Mavis will be laid to rest with a private service at Lebanon National Cemetery, with a Celebration of Life to follow at a later time.  In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Marion County Animal Shelter, 1105 State Hwy 208, Lebanon, KY 40033.  Mattingly Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.
