Michael Travis Bickett, 44, of Saint Joe, passed away Thursday, May 14, 2026, at his home. Born July 14, 1981, in Marion County, he worked as a mechanic doing diagnostic and repair work. He honorably served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps. Though a mechanic by trade, one of his strongest passions was music. His greatest joys were playing guitar, metalworking, and spending time with his children and family. He was a lifelong learner and true autodidact. He was an expert at anything he put his mind to, but above all else he had the best sense of humor. He loved to laugh and cut up with those he loved.

He was preceded in death by his nephew, Dylan Vinson.

Survivors include three children, Damon Bickett of Bowling Green, Raven Bickett and Cannon Bickett, both of Raywick; his beloved companion, Erica Cecil, and her children, Scarlett and Olivia; his parents, Michael and Charlotte Bickett of Loretto; one sister, Sheila Pendygraft of Loretto; one niece, Candice Pendygraft of Lexington.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 am Monday, May 18, 2026, at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto. Rev. Deacon Joseph R. Dant will officiate. Interment will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery, where full military honors will be provided by the Marion County Veterans Honor Guard.

The visitation is 4-8 pm Sunday at Mattingly Funeral Home.

Pallbearers are Chris Bickett, Bill Bickett, Adam Mohin, Chris Bell, Joey Mattingly, and Tommy Joe Hamilton.
