Mr. Michael Blandford, age 80 of Lebanon, went to his heavenly home at 2:55 am on Tuesday, August 20, 2024. He was born November 28, 1943, in Marion County to the late Flossie and Rueben Blandford. Mike was a retired employee of Jim Beam after 38 years and a lifelong farmer. He loved God, his family and farming. He was kind, hardworking, a member of St. Charles church and devoted to the Catholic faith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Donnie Blandford, three sisters, Joanne Wiley, Diane Mattingly and Mahala Siegel and three brothers, Ricky Blandford, Bobby Blandford, and Johnny Blandford.
He is survived by his wife of over 58 years, Eugenia "Jean" Smith Blandford, his sons, Tommy Blandford of Lebanon, Justin (Lindsey) Blandford of Loretto, and one daughter Amy (Luke) Raisor of Bloomfield, seven grandchildren; Cade Sanders, Chelsea Blandford, Michael Blandford, Patrick Blandford, Avery Perkins, Landon Blandford and Dylan Blandford, two great grandchildren, Macklin Sanders and Walker Blandford; six sisters, Charlene Nugent of Lebanon, Elaine (Marvin) Miles, Cabrini (Butch) Gordon, Ronnie (David) Baumer; Terri (Don) Sympson, Angie Puckett and one brother, Kirby (Nancy) Blandford.
Funeral services for Mr. Michael Blandford will be held 11 am Friday, August 23, 2024, at Saint Charles Catholic Church, 675 Highway 327, Lebanon. Rev. Scott J. Wimsett will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. A bereavement dinner is to be held at the St. Charles Parrish Hall immediately following interment.
The visitation will be from 3-8 pm Thursday at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto, with a prayer service at 6 pm by Rev. Deacon Joseph R. Dant.
The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to memorial masses in Mike's name at St. Charles Church or to Hosparus Health Green River.
Pallbearers are Jeremy Votaw, Michael Blandford, Eric Blandford, Mervin Smith, Leo Smith, and Don Sympson.
