Naomi S. Mullins, age 86 of Louisville, passed away Saturday, January 21, 2023, at her home. She was born March 31, 1936, in Marion County. She was a long-time employee of Sam's Club on Brownsboro Road and formerly worked as a Registered Nurse. She was a loving mother. She enjoyed church picnics and playing bingo and pull tabs.
Naomi was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Adrian "Ado" and Mary Edith "Sis" Mattingly Simms; one sister, Ruth Simms; one brother, William Robert Simms; her former husband, William Zachary Wheatley.
Survivors include seven children, Charles Wheatley (Cynthia Donaway) of Louisville, Kathy Huff (Doug) of Mount Washington, Bobby Wheatley (Cristi) of Louisville, Joe Wheatley (Patricia) of Lexington, Elizabeth Broadway (Rick) of Sebring, Florida, Alan Wheatley (Brooke) of Louisville and Roger Wheatley (Tonya) of Louisville; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; six siblings, J.A. (Edna), Gerald (Polly), Joyce (John), Shirley, Bonnie (David), and Virginia.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am Tuesday, January 24, 2023, at Saint Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 108 Main Street in Raywick. Rev. David W. Naylor will officiate. The burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 6-8 pm Monday at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto, with a prayer service at 7 pm by Rev. Deacon Joseph R. Dant.
