Nell Green Grundy, 68, of Lebanon, beloved daughter, mother, sister, and friend, passed away Sunday, November 2, 2025, peacefully in the comfort of her home.  Born April 3, 1957 in Marion County, Nell devoted her life to caring for others, both personally and professionally.  She was a proud graduate of Spalding College of Nursing, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She went on to serve countless patients and families throughout her many years of practice. Her compassion, steady hands, and gentle heart made her not only an exceptional nurse but also a source of comfort and strength to everyone she met. Nell was known for her deep kindness, her unwavering sense of humor, and her ability to find light even in difficult times. Her laughter could fill a room, and her empathy made everyone feel seen and valued. Above all, Nell's greatest joy and purpose in life were her children and grandchildren. She loved them fiercely and unconditionally, finding her truest happiness in their presence, their laughter, and their milestones. She will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know her—her family, friends, colleagues, and everyone whose lives she touched. Her legacy of love, care, and compassion will live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. Joe W. Green and Josephine Bowles Rinehart Green; three siblings, Alice Abell Green Allen (Dr. Bruce Allen), Josephine Rinehart Green Smith (Dr. Danny Smith), and Marion Abell Green.

Survivors include two children, James Caldwell Grundy IV (Michaela) and Alice Grundy Geer; three grandchildren, James Caldwell Grundy V, Miles January Grundy, and Brooks Thomas Geer; five siblings, CDR, USN Joseph Green Jr. (retired) (Pam), Fred Bowles Green (Carol), Isabel Green Duley (Dr. Bill), Grace Rinehart Teichman (Dr. Jeb), and Nancy Green Elder (John Arthur).

Memorial Services for Nell Green Grundy will be held at 11 am Saturday, November 8, 2025, at Saint Augustine Catholic Church, 235 S. Spalding Avenue, Lebanon.  Rev. Deacon Joseph R. Dant will officiate.  Inurnment will follow in the church cemetery.

The memorial visitation is 10 am – 11 am Saturday at the church.  Mattingly Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in her memory to St. Augustine School in Lebanon, KY.
