Obituary
Nellie Mae Mattingly, age 85 of Loretto, passed away Monday, September 16, 2013 at Flaget Memorial Hospital in Bardstown.
She was born February 26, 1928 in Taylor County to the late Robert Leonard and Mary Ellen Thomas Brockman.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Elias Alvin Mattingly, three sisters, Lorene Shively, Bonnie Luckett and Judy Brockman, two brothers, Benny and Richard Brockman, one grandson and one great-grandson.
Survivors include one daughter, Joyce Hammond (Hugh) of Lebanon, three sons, Carl Mattingly (Lisa), Alvin Mattingly (Jeanne Nunn) and Robert "Cobb" Mattingly (Carlene) all of Loretto, 14 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:30 PM Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at Saint Francis of Assisi Church, 6785 Highway 52, Saint Francis, with interment to follow in the church cemetery. Rev. R. Joseph Hemmerle will be the celebrant.
Visitation is 3-8 PM Tuesday at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto, with a prayer service at 5 PM.
