Patrick Earl Lyvers, age 80 of Holy Cross, passed away Friday, February 28, 2025 at Norton's Brownsboro Hospital surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on August 8, 1944, in Holy Cross, Kentucky. A devoted husband, father, and papaw, he was a cherished member of Holy Cross parish. He worked as a Kroger meat cutter for 52 years. His hobbies included reading, playing solitaire, gardening, walking, and fishing, but his true passion was mushroom hunting.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Martha Simpson Lyvers; three brothers, Tony, Ronnie, and Wayne Lyvers; two sisters, Charlotte Figg and Patricia Ann Waits; an infant great-granddaughter, Sophia Lynne Blanford.

Survivors include his loving wife of 60 years Mary Hazel Newton Lyvers; four children, Randy Lyvers (Carol) of Columbus, Indiana, Jerry Lyvers (Theresa) of Louisville, Carol Blanford (Steven) of Holy Cross, and Bill Lyvers (Staci) of Gahanna, Ohio; 12 grandchildren, Brian Blanford (Traci), Drew Lyvers, Lindsey Bland (Wesley), Luke Lyvers, Hayl Lingenfelter (Aaron), Amber Shoffner (Bobby), Sydney Yaney (Sam), John Lyvers, Kyra Lin (Winson), Claire Lyvers, Zane Lyvers, and Saige Lyvers; six great-grandchildren, Grayson, Charlotte, Thomas, Carson, Madelyn, and Henry; three brothers, Wallace, Kenneth (Hien), and Phillip (Laura) Lyvers; five sisters, Wilhelmenia Taylor, Pauline Mattingly, Rebecca Jane Essex, Margaret Mary Mattingly (Tommy), and Trudy Voss (Hank).

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am Monday, March 3, 2025, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 59 New Haven Road, Loretto.  Rev. Richard Goodin will officiate.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The visitation is 3-8 pm Sunday at Mattingly Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7 pm.

Pallbearers are Brian Blanford, Drew Lyvers, Luke Lyvers, John Lyvers, Wesley Bland, and Bobby Shoffner.
