Patricia Ann "Pat" Wheatley , age 76 of Louisville, died Thursday, June 5, 2014 at Baptist Health in Louisville.
She was born on March 16, 1938 in St. Francis, KY. Patricia worked at the Kentucky School for the Blind for more than 20 years and was a longtime member of St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Menzie Wheatley, her parents, Pauline Elizabeth Robey Smith Hall and James Bernard Smith, her step-father, William S. Hall, one sister Jane Smith, and two brothers, Jimmy and Ernie Smith.
She is survived by two daughters, Judy Scholl (Dan) and Carolyn Wheatley, both of Louisville, seven sons, Larry Wheatley (Lois), Ricky Wheatley (Mary), Ronnie Wheatley (Angie) and Tommy Wheatley all of Raywick, Jerry Wheatley (Lee) and Billy Wheatley (Valerie) all of Louisville and Jeff Wheatley (Cherie) of Lexington, one sister, Wanda Portman (Tommy) and one brother, Freddie Hall all of Leitchfield, 25 grandchildren, a number of great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews and her special dog Sparky.
Her Funeral Mass will be held at 10 AM Saturday, June 7, 2014 at Saint Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 108 Main Street, Raywick, celebrated by Rev. James W. Graf. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. A Memorial Mass will be held at 12 Noon, Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church.
Visitation is 3-8 PM Friday at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto, with a prayer service at 5:15 pm by Rev. Deacon Joseph R. Dant.
