Dorothy Patricia "Patsy" Lyon, age 83 of Cox's Creek and formerly of Loretto, passed away Sunday, March 2, 2025 at her home, with her family by her side.  She was born October 29, 1941 in Marion County.  She was a former homemaker and member of Saint Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.  She was a woman with many skills and took great pride in all that she did, an avid quilt maker, curtain designer, seamstress and a great cook, as well as numerous hobbies she acquired throughout her life.  Above all, she was the most loving wife, mother & mamaw to her one & only grandson, Coleman, who continued to make her eyes light up till the end.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Coleman and Gertrude Mattingly; three sisters, Mary Agnes Helm, Joyce Ann Medley, and Carol Kincer; two brothers, John and Billy Coleman Mattingly.

Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Bobby Lyon; three children, Karen Mattingly (Jeff) of Cox's Creek, Ricky Lyon (Tina) of Louisville and Lisa Pope (Marty) of Bardstown; one grandson, Coleman Mattingly (Dannielle Gilkey) of Bardstown; two sisters, Judy Blandford and Martha Hardesty; one brother, Patrick Mattingly.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am Thursday at Saint Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 6785 Highway 52, Loretto.  Rev. Richard T. Goodin will officiate.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The visitation is 3-8 pm Wednesday at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto, with a prayer service at 7 pm by Rev. Deacon Joseph R. Dant.
