Paul Harold "Hurley" O'Bryan, age 90, formerly of New Hope, passed away Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at his home in Shepherdsville.
Born January 27, 1922 in New Hope, Mr. O'Bryan was a former employee of Bird and Son in Bardstown and the Kentucky Highway Department. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dolly Nelson O'Bryan, a daughter, Carol Ann Miles, his parents, Ramey and Mary Lucy O'Bryan, two sisters, Mabel Beck and Elizabeth Matthews, five brothers, Joseph Benjamin, David, Raymond, Samuel and Earl O'Bryan, three half- brothers, Bernard, Earl and Claude O'Bryan and one half sister, Mary Helena O'Bryan.
Survivors include a daughter, Kathleen Hinton (John) of Shepherdsville, a son, David O'Bryan of Edgewater, FL, eight grandchildren, Kimberly Miles, Robbie Miles, Lucinda Miles Perry, Darrell Hinton, Pamela Hinton, Jacqueline Soto, Jamie Miles and Todd Miles, 12 great-grandchildren, three brothers, Aloysius O?Bryan, Sr. of Elizabethtown, John and Vincent O'Bryan, both of Louisville.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 1:30 PM Saturday, July 28, 2012 at Saint Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, New Hope, with interment to follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Kenneth Fortener will be the celebrant. Military Rites will be conducted at the cemetery by the Marion County Veterans Honor Guard.
Visiting is 1-8 PM Thursday and 1-8 PM Friday at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto with a prayer service at 7 PM Friday.
