Philip B. Newton, Jr., age 51 of New Hope, passed away Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at Flaget Hospital in Bardstown.

A New Hope native, he was born September 21, 1966. He was preceded in death by his brother, Jeffrey Thompson Newton; grandparents, J. B. and Eva Lee Newton and Pat and Ada Thompson.

Survivors include his parents, Philip and Ginger Thompson Newton; four sisters, Kim Welch of Bardstown, Susan Bowling (Paul) of New Hope, Amanda Medley (Kevin) of Loretto and Diane Hiestand (Wes) of Cox's Creek; two brothers, Mark Newton (Kris) of Lyon's Station and Bernard Newton (Amanda) of Bardstown; a number of nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM Friday, August 17, 2018 at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto. Deacon Jim Cecil will preside. Burial will follow in St. Vincent de Paul Cemetery in New Hope.

Visitation is 4-8 PM Thursday at Mattingly Funeral Home.
