Richard Kelly Wheatley, 66, of Raywick, passed away at his home on Sunday, July 20, 2025. He dedicated over 40 years to his work as a logger and was honored as Kentucky Logger of the Year, a testament to his skill and passion for his profession. Ricky had a deep love for the outdoors, enjoying gardening, hunting, and especially fishing. He also took great joy in canning, with a particular fondness for making tomato juice. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Ricky was preceded in death by his parents Menzie and Patricia Wheatley and sister Carolyn Wheatley.

Survivors include three sons, Jason, Michael and Chris Wheatley, and daughter Courtney Wheatley; six brothers, Larry, Jerry, Billy, Ronny, Tommy and Jeff Wheatley and his sister Judy Scholl.  He is also survived by 3 grandchildren and his former wife Mary Wheatley.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 am Thursday, July 24, 2025 at Saint Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 108 Main Street, Raywick.  Very Rev. Scott J. Wimsett, V.F.  will officiate.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The visitation is 4-8 pm Wednesday at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto, with a vigil service at 7 pm by Deacon Stephen A. Age. Praying of the Rosary will follow the vigil service.
