B. Frederick "Rick" Arendt, age 82 of Holy Cross, passed away Monday, February 24, 2025 at Springfield Nursing and Rehab Center.  He was born April 11, 1942 in Park Ridge, Illinois.  He formerly worked as a construction project manager.  He was a Master Gardener and loved growing daffodils and dahlias.  He enjoyed looking at old classic cars.  He was also an avid reader and trivia buff.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Kathy Arendt and his parents, Frederick and Ruth Talcott Arendt.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Judy Kolar Arendt; one sister, Julianne Putman (Steve) of Fishers, Indiana; one brother-in-law, Rudy Kolar of Kyoto, Japan; one niece, Anna Shults of Fishers; many cousins; his beloved dog, Stan Lee.

Cremation was chosen.  Inurnment rites will take place 11 am Tuesday, March 11, 2025 in Saint Francis of Assisi Cemetery, 6785 Highway 52, Loretto.  Mattingly Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.
