John Ricky Alvey, age 66 of the Village of Lebanon, passed away Sunday, July 16, 2023, at Norton Hospital in Louisville.  He was born in Marion County and was raised in Saint Francis.  He attended Marion County Industries.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John Alvin "Johnny" Alvey and Mary Kathryn Robey Shepherd and one infant brother, Larry Alvey.

Survivors include two sisters, Linda Cecil of Columbia, South Carolina and Betty Alvey Smith of New Salem, North Dakota; several nieces and nephews; his many friends and caregivers from Communicare and Marion County Industries.

Cremation was chosen.  His cremated remains will be buried in Saint Francis of Assisi Cemetery next to his father.  No public services will be held.  Mattingly Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.
