Rita Mae Johnston, age 60 of Louisville, formerly of Marion County, passed away Wednesday, December 10, 2014 at Golden LivingCenter-Hillcreek in Louisville.
She was born March 23, 1954 in Louisville. She formerly owned and operated the Smyrna Inn in Louisville. She was a former employee of Citizens National Bank in Lebanon.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry L. and Laura Campbell Helm; six sisters, Evey Kelton, Frances Tarrance, Crissy Bell, Ruby Shelbourne, Carolyn Towsley and Betty Helm; one brother, Bobby G. Helm; one infant son, Perry Franklin.
Survivors include her three sons, Phillip Franklin of Springfield, Paul Franklin (Christina) of Loretto, Jason Franklin (Elizabeth) of Lebanon; seven grandchildren, P.J., Kelsey, Taylor, Brianne, Steven, Abbey and Jasmine; one sister, Bernice Schweinhart (Harold) of Louisville; one brother, Stanley Helm of Louisville; her Companion in Life, Joe Thompson of Louisville.
Funeral Services will be held at 1 PM Saturday, December 13, 2014 at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto, with burial to follow in Elk Horn Cemetery, Elk Horn, KY. Pastor Jim Burke will officiate.
Visitation is 10 AM till 1 PM Saturday at Mattingly Funeral Home.
