Roy "Rooster" Wright, age 75 of Lebanon, passed away at 1 am Sunday, November 3, 2024, at UK Medical Center due to injuries sustained in an auto accident.  He was born December 18, 1948 in Marion County.  After high school he served his country during the Vietnam era stationed in Germany.  When he returned, he spent the majority of his career as a maintenance employee at Armour Food in Springfield until it closed.  He had been retired from Sansbury Care Center in Saint Catharine for several years.

Roy died with his wife of 52 years, Deborah Payne Wright.  Roy was preceded in death by parents, Roy Wright, Sr. and Jane Judd Clyde; one brother, Larry Wright.

Rooster and Debbie were loved dearly by their surviving two sons, Tim Wright (Joanna) and Michael Wright (Jackie) both of Lebanon.They were also cherished by their six grandchildren, known to them as Pappy and Ging Ging, Taylor Mattingly (Ryan), Raley Wright, Maggie Wright, Leah Wright, Nate Wright and Nolan Wright; one great granddaughter, Ava Mattingly.

A celebration of the lives of Roy "Rooster" and Deborah Payne Wright "Debbie" will be held from 3 – 7 pm Thursday, November 7, 2024, at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto, with a prayer service at 7 pm by Rev. Deacon Joseph R. Dant.

Joint Inurnment Rites will be held at 11 am Friday, November 8, 2024, in Lebanon National Cemetery where Military Honors will be conducted by the Marion County Veterans Honor Guard.
